Matadora is...

Matadora (or Dora) is the Pet of the Week over at Chittenden County Humane Society. She is 6 years old, very pretty and quite an independent woman. She likes other cats but no dogs please. You may visit Dora and all the other furry friends at Kindness Court in South Burlington. And please consider bringing an item from their wish list.

It's a boy!

Congrats to Kara and Chris Quinn on the birth of their baby boy on Sunday, Feb 18. We'll post photos and details as soon as we get them... and our love to Mazzie too...

Mardi Gras in Burlington

By now you've all heard that last week's big mess o'snow pushed back the 12th annual Magic Hat Mardi Gras Parade on the Church Street Marketplace to this Saturday, February 24. The Parade begins at the corner of Main Street and South Winooski Avenue, goes up Church Street...right past our windows. Come kick off your snow boots and get a warm, relaxed view of the festive floats, as the crowds party below from our Church Street Studio. Parade starts at 3 - and we'll be around until class starts at 5pm. Stop up and say hello. (We couldn't find any Mardi Gras photos on the Magic Hat Site, so the Church Street shot is graciously borrowed from the Vermont Cynic. And the other from our 2005 archives, of a 2 yr old Sabe.

Sheehan sent us these photos from his vacation that are downright shocking to look at in the wake of our recent whiteout... and yes, he's sporting the Saka Pinda Backpack as his chosen travel bag.

Valentine's Day in Montpelier

A photo emailed to us by Carrie B, from last week's snowstorm. A picture of what they woke up to in Montpelier on Valentine's Day. Every year someone papers the town in hearts... nobody knows who... this is what the capitol looked like this year:
