LA Yoga & Music Fest

It has been three months today since the Tsunami disaster. We're pleased to further spread the word about The LA Yoga & Music Fest - A Tsunami Relief Effort to be held April 10, 2005 in Santa Monica, CA. "The magnitude of the Tsunami tragedy has touched people so deeply that there has been tremendous motivation to selfless service (karma yoga), from people of all nations. Inspired by Amma's (Mata Amritanandamayi) immediate and sustained response to the tragedy and by her pledge of $23 million for Tsunamis relief efforts, the LA Yoga and Music Fest is one expression of the many ways people have come together to support the healing and rebuilding of those areas in Southern India and Sri Lanka that were so incomprehensibly devastated."

ashtanga blog central

Fascinated by blogs and have a daily practice? Links to daily ashtanga practice blogs all over the globe have found a home on Ashtangi.net. Always encouraging to know that there are students around the world linked together by this practice, facing the same processes, breaking through and moving along. Even better, they have made it simple to jump in and start your own practice blog. Speaking of daily practice... for those of us in northwestern Vermont today, there is Primary at 12 & 5:40, Jivamukti at 4, and Weekly Sunday Kirtan at 6pm. All is coming.

Fresh Yoga Periodicals

Fresh Yoga Periodicals

Periodically, we'll be posting links to some of the interesting fresh Yoga publications that come through the studio. Favorite reads of the moment include Namarupa , dense, academic, awe inspiring photography, and you'll treasure each issue. They only publish a few times a year, but don't be concerned about the date issued - these are true journals - eternal relevance. LA Yoga may be a West Coast Publication - but there is plenty of relevant material regardless of your location. They publish a consistent free bi-monthly and post the articles online. Hats off to them. The March/April issue features articles about the Tsunami.
