Shyamdas comes to YVT this Saturday

Join the Yoga Vermont community for an evening of Kirtan (devotional singing) and Satsang (spiritual discussion) with Shyamdas, Saturday, September 30th at 7 pm in Studio C.
Shyamdas presents Bhakti Yoga programs, which combine ecstatic kirtan singing with stories and teachings on the path of devotion. This is a unique opportunity to join this amazing teacher and lovely being for an intense, soulful and musical experience. As the only western, popular kirtan singer fluent in the devotional languages and sacred literature of India, Shyamdas offers something unique to his audiences. He recently headlined for the third year at Omega Institute’s “Ecstatic Chant Weekend,” and he has inspired audiences at venues such as Esalen, Jivamukti Yoga, Integral Yoga Institute, Kripalu, and Ananda Ashram.
Shyamdas has lived and traveled throughout sacred India for 35 years studying Bhakti Yoga (the path of devotion). As a Vedic scholar and a Sanskrit translator, he has written and translated over 20 books on Bhakti Yoga and the Path of Grace. His kirtan albums, Cool Dual (2006), Sweet Radhe! (2005) and Beloved Chants (2004) include call-and-response kirtans in Vrindavan style, enhanced by his own original, ecstatic mood. They also feature enchanting poems by 16th century Indian poets such as Surdas, Vedic Sanskrit mantras, as well as live temple-calls and ambient sounds from sacred India.
Come spend a sweet evening singing from the heart at Yoga Vermont, Saturday, September 30th at 7 pm. Tickets are $15 at the door.
